1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Expense Tracker (the “App”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the App.

2. Purpose and Features

The App is a personal finance management tool. Depending on the version and configuration, it may let you add income and expenses, set budget goals, view daily/weekly/monthly analytics, review transaction history, manage borrowed and lent money, sign in using supported authentication, use Guest Mode, and receive notifications.

3. Guest Mode and Account Access

Guest Mode: You may use the App without creating an account. Guest financial records are stored locally on your device and are not automatically synchronized with Firebase cloud storage. They may be lost if you uninstall the App, clear its data, reset your device, or remove local storage. You are responsible for keeping any separate records you need.

Signed-in mode: You may sign in using the authentication options provided, such as Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. Keep your device and account access secure. If cloud storage is enabled, account-associated records may be stored by the configured backend. Guest records do not automatically transfer to your account unless the App provides and performs that functionality.

4. User Responsibilities

• Enter accurate income, expense, budget, borrowing, and lending information.

• Review records and correct errors.

• Keep your device and account credentials secure.

• Use the App lawfully and responsibly.

• Do not misuse, disrupt, damage, or attempt unauthorized access to the App or its services.

5. Financial Information and Calculations

Balances, summaries, charts, analytics, and budget calculations depend on the information you enter and the App's implemented features. Incorrect or incomplete entries may produce inaccurate results. Verify important calculations independently.

The App provides organizational and informational tools only. It is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, legal, investment, or financial advice. You remain responsible for your financial decisions.

6. Budget Goals and Analytics

Budget goals and daily, weekly, and monthly analytics are intended to help you understand spending habits. They do not guarantee that you will stay within a budget or achieve a particular financial outcome. You are responsible for reviewing your settings and activity.

7. Borrowing and Lending Management

Borrowing and lending records are for personal tracking only. The App does not lend money, collect repayments, verify debts, guarantee repayment, or act as a party to agreements between you and another person. You are responsible for verifying records and resolving any disputes with the relevant parties.

8. Data Storage and Loss

Information may be stored locally or in configured cloud services depending on your access mode and the App's features. Data may be affected by device failure, connectivity issues, service interruptions, technical failures, or deletion. Although reasonable measures may be taken to maintain the App, uninterrupted availability and complete data recovery are not guaranteed. Keep separate copies of important financial records.

9. Notifications and Reminders

Notifications may include budget alerts, spending reminders, or other supported reminders. Delivery may be delayed or unavailable because of device settings, permissions, network conditions, or technical limitations. Do not rely exclusively on notifications for important financial or repayment obligations.

10. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services such as Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, and Firebase Cloud Firestore. Your use of these services may also be subject to the providers' terms and policies. We are not responsible for independent third-party interruptions or changes, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

11. Intellectual Property

The App's original design, branding, interface, software, and developer-created materials are owned by or licensed to the developer, except for third-party materials and components. You may use the App for its intended purposes. You must not copy, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit protected materials without authorization, except as permitted by law or the applicable license.

12. Availability and Updates

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App for technical, security, operational, or legal reasons. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every device.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an “as available” basis. The developer is not responsible for losses arising from inaccurate entries, financial decisions based on calculations, loss of local records, device failures, or third-party service interruptions, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

14. Termination and Discontinuation

You may stop using the App at any time. Removing the App may remove locally stored records but does not necessarily delete cloud data. Account suspension or deletion, where applicable, may be handled through available App options or by contacting the developer. Access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to protect the App, users, or services, subject to applicable law.

15. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes to the App, its features, or applicable law. The revised document will show an updated “Last Updated” date. Where required, we will provide notice or obtain consent for material changes.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are subject to the applicable laws of India, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights or other rights that apply to you. Disputes will be handled by courts or other authorities having jurisdiction under applicable law.
